I quite like F-Stop and almost picked up that exact bag. Let us know your thoughts on the bag after you use it. I like F-Stop bags but really have to consider cost at least in my case. Someone on DPReview wrote an extensive post on backpacks. Just wondering what people's experience has been like cinching it down for carry-on more than anything. I've already bought the pack so I am committed at this point. I should see it by the end of next week sometime but I'm excited to get it and just wondering what everyone's opinion is on it. I think with only $$$ camera gear I ought to be able to compress it enough for carry on then still have the room when I get to my destination to pack all the extras and some light camping gear.ĭoes anybody have any experience with this pack? I ordered it right before the B&H shabbat shutdown this week and it didn't get shipped out before. I ordered with a couple extra gatekeeper straps to aid in compression when flying and make it as small a package as possible. The Ajna 40L is the biggest bag F-stop recommends for carry on, but I read a number of reviews where guys were saying that the Tilopa can be carried on too, especially if you remove the aluminum stays in the frame to get a little more compression from top to bottom (decrease the overall length). I also wanted it big enough to be able to carry all my gear but hopefully still fit into a carry on bin. It just seemed like a really smooth system. I also really like the idea of rear entry so you can get to your gear and when you put the pack back on you aren't getting all the mud/dirt all over your back when you pack up to move. I am mostly into wildlife photography, so durability and comfort for long treks were my main priorities. I read myself to death about every backpack made I think and it seems like nobody has a bad thing to say about F stop. I just ordered my first serious camera backpack, the F-stop tilopa in the new duradiamond material.

Fees apply.¹ How to create a proforma invoice For this reason, it’s always a good idea to maintain visibility over every aspect of your incoming and outgoing payments, so you know how a cancelled order may affect cash flow.Īmerican Express® Business Cards come with a range of digital tools that help you keep a firm grip on company expenses, as well as a handy overview of your day-to-day spending. That means it’s possible for a customer to change their mind and not go ahead with a purchase even after you’ve sent them a proforma invoice. Similarly to a quotation document, if the sale does not go ahead, no action is required to edit or cancel the proforma invoice. Can a proforma invoice be cancelled?Īs a proforma invoice is not a legally binding document, or the official invoice used for accounting, they do not need to be cancelled. The date on this invoice is the tax point and is used for your VAT return. The customer confirms they’d like to go ahead and sends payment. At this point, the tax point hasn’t occurred, and you would not use the date on the proforma in your tax accounting. On the proforma, you list every detail of the proposed sale. You send a proforma invoice to a customer who has enquired about a particular item. The size of each leather skin differs and will need to be checked in the warehouse before you confirm the exact dimensions. For example, let’s say you’re a supplier of raw leather materials. The tax point is also known as the "time of supply" – it’s the day on which the sale takes place for VAT purposes. Proforma invoices, taxes, and VATĪ proforma doesn’t fix the tax point of a transaction. The purpose of a proforma invoice is to show how much goods or services will cost to help the customer decide if they want to go ahead with the purchase. If goods are damaged or there’s been a clerical error or another mistake, a credit memo provides details of a refund for the original sales invoice in part or in full or credit that’s used towards future purchases. To find out more, read our guide to commercial invoices. Commercial invoices are used to calculate the financial value of goods being traded and any applicable taxes that may apply to the shipment. Commercial invoiceĪ commercial invoice is used in international shipments to declare to the customer and customs officials what is being shipped, who is selling and buying, the date and sale terms, the quantity and weight of goods, and other details. As well as a payment request, it’s also a tax document and, if it includes VAT, it may be called a tax invoice. To better understand where a proforma fits into the sales process, here are what other common invoice types are used for: Sales invoiceĪ sales invoice is a formal request for payment that’s sent at the same time as, or shortly after, goods or services are supplied. How does a proforma differ from other types of invoices? Once the customer agrees to everything, then you deliver the goods and issue a formal invoice. The key point to remember is that a proforma is usually sent to a customer or client when they’ve committed to purchasing from you, but can’t be sent an official invoice because the final details still need to be confirmed. This is because customers aren’t required to pay the amount listed on the proforma, the total amount due isn’t recorded under the customer’s accounts payable or your accounts receivable, and you can’t use a proforma to reclaim VAT. In many ways, a proforma is closer to a quote or estimate than an invoice. Is a proforma invoice legally binding?Īlthough a proforma includes much, if not all, of the same information that appears on a final sales invoice, it doesn’t carry the same legal weight and shouldn’t be used for accounting purposes, or as a binding agreement. It is essentially a "good faith" agreement between you (the seller) and a customer so the buyer knows what to expect ahead of time.įor example, if payment is required in advance to ensure financing is secured before you manufacture goods or supply a service, a proforma can be used to propose the details of the upcoming transaction. A proforma invoice includes a description of the goods, the total payable amount and other details about the transaction. Would you have put all your money on it? More to the point, if a customer asks for a proforma, do you know what it should and shouldn’t be used for and exactly how to send one? What is a proforma invoice?Ī proforma invoice is a preliminary bill or estimated invoice which is used to request payment from the committed buyer for goods or services before they are supplied. The correct answer is "proforma invoice". "Which of the following cannot be used for accounting purposes?" As GIMP (GNU image manipulation program) is powerful and adaptable, it is the best free Photoshop alternative.GIMP comes with layers, masks, advanced filters, colour adjustment tools, and transformations. You can return to the original whenever you wish. What makes this an excellent software choice are its extras. HDR merging, panorama stitching, focus stacking, and batch processing are all possible. One negative point is import time. Affinity Photo takes a long time to process hundreds of images. Like in Photoshop, importing is not built for mass editing or organising.Although PhotoWorks is only available for Windows, it is a great Photoshop alternative. We’d expect a similarly intuitive experience from the Kindle Scribe, but we’ll only know the performance of features such as palm rejection after we’ve had the chance to scribble on it. Our five-star review of the Remarkable 2 found that tilt support and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity contributed to a natural and enjoyable note-taking experience, with minimal lag and a useful range of stroke settings. How the styli compare in practice will be another factor to assess in our full side-by-side test. And like Amazon’s quills, you’ll need to choose the Marker Plus if you want an eraser on the end. Like Amazon’s quills, it’s also battery-free. The standard Marker looks like a pen and attaches magnetically to the side of the E Ink tablet, which is more secure than tucking it behind your ear. It’s a similar setup for the Remarkable 2. So you can go from jotting to highlighting in a jiffy. Shelling out for the Premium Pen adds an eraser on the end, as well as a shortcut button, which allows you to switch between pen settings with one click. And because it’s a passive tool, there’s no battery to charge. Wield Amazon’s Basic Pen and you’ll find a pen-like stylus in your hand, which sticks magnetically to the side of the Kindle Scribe. While the touchscreens on both devices support finger inputs for swiping through pages and navigating the interface, each is also designed with pen use in mind – whether you’re tapping around or taking notes. It’s that doodling ability which puts the Kindle Scribe and Remarkable 2 in a different class to traditional e-readers. Neither e-reader can produce colour visuals, but the Amazon Kindle Scribe does trump the Remarkable 2 with its adjustable front light, allowing you to continue doodling in dim conditions. That includes a glare-free coating for reading outdoors, plus a surface texture that’s meant to make stylus scribbling feel natural. That said, the difference is unlikely to be a deal-breaker for legibility when reading and scrawling.īoth panels are designed to mimic the look and feel of paper. In theory, it should mean that the Amazon Kindle Scribe is able to render text and edges more crisply than the Remarkable 2. How significant this factor feels in practice will be something we test in our full side-by-side review of the two E Ink tablets. While it’s a tiny bit bigger, the resolution comes in at a less sharp 226ppi. The Remarkable 2 features a 10.3in panel. Amazon hasn’t published the exact resolution, but it works out at a decent 300ppi. The Kindle Scribe’s screen measures in at 10.2in. Headlining both shows are those E Ink displays. The Kindle Scribe is weightier at 433g, undercut by the 404g Remarkable 2. On the scales, there’s a little more in it. Each slate is slender as well: 5.8mm for the Kindle and 4.7mm for the Remarkable 2, which make each e-reader slimmer than any contemporary smartphone. The Kindle Scribe is the taller of the two by 9mm, while the Remarkable 2 is wider by 17mm. Physically, both devices are approximately the size of an A4 sheet of paper. Which looks better will be down to the eye of the beholder. In contrast, the Remarkable 2 has a white surround with a silver-accented grip strip, and a thicker bottom bezel. The all-black Kindle Scribe features tidy, uniform bezels on three edges. But there are also visual differences which set the two slates apart. Notable bezels frame the displays, with a larger strip on the left to allow for easier holding. Both are styled like tablets and fronted by greyscale E Ink screens. The Amazon Kindle Scribe and Remarkable 2 follow a very similar design formula. A countdown is a sequence of backward counting to the time of a specific event. Then I re-sprayed the entire wall again since the backing/glue was still there in most places, and that came off in a second round of peeling, which took about 1.5 hours. Almost all of the front of the wallpaper came off in the first round of spraying and peeling, which took about 1.5 hours.I needed to use a silicone pot holder to hold the bottle the entire time I was spraying since the bottle itself was still really hot, but the super hot water really seemed to get the paper off the wall well, so it was worth it to bring the heat, so to speak.I’ve heard that filling one of those plastic weed-spray containers from Home Depot gives your arm a huge break, so that might be helpful in a larger room, but I had such little wiggle room in the bathroom (there was a chair in there with me sometimes so I could reach a few high parts) that a big gallon sprayer would have cramped the room even more. Constantly spraying that bottle does get a little old (your wrist/forearm gets a little Jillian Michaels-ish workout) but it wasn’t bad enough that I cried or anything. It came off much easier when I moved in smaller sections. When I attempted to spray the whole room first (even a small room like a bathroom) by the time I got back to the first part I sprayed it was starting to dry and re-attaching itself to the wall. Spraying the entire room with boiling water and then attempting to peel the paper is a lot less effective than saturating small sections at a time (ex: half of one wall) and then peeling while the paper is still wet and loose. But I realized that the spray bottle still sprayed even without a perfectly shaped bottom or a perfectly attached nozzle, and in a very “the show must go on” moment I walked into the bathroom and just started spraying. I was as wired as a kid hopped up on four boxes of Nerds. I blame it on wallpaper-stripping-excitement. Guys, what was I thinking? I have no idea. I used one of those silicone pot holder things to hold the bottle as it came out and then attempted to secure the top of the spray bottle and that’s when I realized – DUH! – that the bottle had warped from the boiling water… Then I used the same ladle that I had used to submerge it so it would fill itself up to fish out the bottle without touching the boiling water itself. I heard that comforting glug-glug-glug sound as it filled itself up, which was music to my apparently burn-a-phobic mind. I stared at my ladle and thought “no way, that’s going to drip out all over my hands” and then finally slipped the empty capless spray bottle itself into the boiling water and used the ladle to hold it under the water. If it stunk, it was the smallest room (and if it straight up didn’t work I could abandon that method and move onto something else).Īnd speaking of moving onto something else, this approach almost went off the rails immediately? Why? Well, I had this vat of boiling water on the stove and I was holding my spray bottle thinking “how am I going to fill this without dripping hot water all over myself?” – seriously I stood there a solid minute wondering how I was going to avoid giving myself third degree burns filling the bottle. While I’ve also heard awesome things about those methods, the simple boiling water applied with a spray bottle approach seemed like a good place to start. No scoring, no steamer, no spackle knife, no application with a weed sprayer, no fabric softener. Next I boiled a pot of water on the stove, since the method I’m trying this time is intensely simple, but I’ve also heard that it works like gangbusters. I couldn’t help but marvel at the dedication that was once put into this wallpaper job – the outlets were papered and the flowers even matched up. Then I removed the wall plates to free up some edges of the paper and hopefully make the removal process easier (there are two light switches and an outlet). Just so I don’t have any accessories in the way of the serious peelage that I was about to dive into. My first step was to clear things out (the soap pump, mirror above the sink, toilet paper, etc). So hold onto your hats, it’s about to get crazy up in here. I’m telling you guys, I’m like one of those people who works in “risk management” and gets their kicks watching paint dry. And since we have five rooms full of wallpaper (the foyer, the half bathroom, the kitchen, the dining room, and our bathroom), I decided that I would try a different removal method for each one and report back with the pros/cons about each approach as I went, all in the hopes of sussing out which ones bite the big one and which ones seem to work the best. I was actually really excited to tackle the half bathroom’s wallpaper removal project, because I am a strange breed of human and that’s my idea of a good time. Send out the ravens!
